Thank you 2010!

There's so much to remember and be grateful about in the year 2010.

In the year 2010, I graduated college with a degree in Bachelor in Broadcast Communication. I landed a job in one of the top networks in the country even before graduating. I had my real on-the-job-training (aside from my student internship I had in the same network) in my first show The Sweet Life aired in QTV 11. After which I had the chance to write for the show when one of the writers took his vacation for a month. I was able to write more or less 8 episodes and 1 portion buy. Thanks to all the TSL staff. They were the ones who started building my working attitude. And, I also want to thank them for the trust they gave me. Aside from writing, I got to supervise ENG shoots as well acting as SP.

When I felt that I already know everything I need to learn in this type of job, I started seeking out for another show. Love ni Mister, Love ni Misis welcomed me with open arms. The first few months were, lets say, terrible? The pressure of working in a daily program aired in GMA, plus the hectic schedule and tight deadlines were the major problems. It took time, till I got used to it.

In 2010, I was able to help out my parents with the expenses, which I'm very proud of. After graduating, I told myself "Its payback time."  And I'm glad I was able to do it on my first year in work.

Here's a confession: In the last quarter of 2010, I started thinking of transferring to a new job, something lighter and not too stressful. But as I look back, I realized how blessed I am to have all of these experiences given to me. Thank you Lord. Thanks for a great year! Cheers!

Stronger than ever. Bring it on 2011!

Hospicio de San Jose

December 28, 2010 - I was on call to finish two pending shoots for the program Love ni Mister, Love ni Misis. One was held at GMA Compound while the other magic segment was done in Hospicio de San Jose. I was advised to look for an orphanage where we can do the shoot since its Christmas break  (instead of schools where we usually do it.)

I first heard of Hospicio de San Jose way back in college when my thesis adviser use to joke around with us that if we feel busted at home, we can freely leave the house and get ourselves adopted by Hospicio. Thus, it was the first orphange that popped out my mind that I can coordinate for the shoot.

As our team entered the place, kids ran toward us, welcoming us with smiles, eyes that seem to be asking a lot of questions and... tight hug. The feeling of touch... They are starving for love.

I cheerfully hugged them back while asking them to pile up and get themselves ready for the shoot. I strolled around the place, and was teary eyed seeing these kids, some elders and some disabled and sick people abandoned and beeing taken cared of of people they know not.

At first I was really in a bad mood pursuing this shoot at the midst of the Christmas Holiday break. But afterwards, I felt really grateful that in our own little way, we were able to put smiles on these kids and make them happy this season of love.

My Birthday / Christmas Wishlist

"Its better to give than to receive."

Maybe yes. But I think, the feeling is mutual.

Receiving a gift from someone means they remebered you on that special day of your life. Be it any ordinary day, or in special seasons like Christmas and New Year, or maybe on your Birthday. A present symbolizes appreciation, gratefulness, care and love of that person to you. So if you receive gifts, you must feel really blessed because these people know your worth.

The main point here is that, I'll be celebrating my birthday days from now!!! Hahaha! And some close friends kept on asking what I would like to have. Well, I was thinking of your presence on my celebration as the best present, but I realized that my birthday is just two days away from Christmas, and I just made you guys a favor for giving me just one gift for two occassions. Haha! Just kidding. But seriously, no celebrant would want to receive nothing on his or special day. Lol. Just to give you an idea of what I crave for my birthday slash this coming Christmas, here's a list for you.

They're lovely! Any plain outfit can be pulled off with these necklaces!

MAC 32 BRUSH SET

GUCCI ENVY ME 100ml
GADGETS

iPad (with leather case) -- Haha! I can't afford it yet. Still in the process of saving money for it. Someone, please buy me these? Hahaha!

C510i NEW HOUSING / FLIP TOP LEATHER CASE or CRYSTAL CASE -- I love my phone and there are a lot or numbers and messages saved in it so I can't dispose and replace it yet.. I'm tired of its boring black color so I want to change it to silver and red. Then I need a case for it which I don't know where to buy. Somebody, please? :)

So there you go! Haha! Those are what I really like, but any gift would do, of course, it'll be so much appreciated by yours truly. At the end of the day, its still the thought that counts!! Thanks in advance!! Yea! Hahaha!

Sweet Absence

Hahaha! I tried but some activities just came in that even my weekends were not available for updating this blog. So what's keeping me busy? Nothing much. Still work. Its just that we're a lot busier now than before since our show just came back on the air with new episodes, and new host as well. So we need to double our efforts.

The Sweet Life is a daily lifestyle magazine show providing info-tainment features. It brings the latest in fashion, beauty, wellness, food, and anything and everything a woman takes interest in. The show is hosted by the beautiful and iconic, and a public servant as well, Cong. Lucy Torres-Gomez together with its new co-host, Pinay Hollywood Actress, Ms. Iza Calzado. (WMN)

Questions from media and ordinary people were raised... Iza Calzado is the new host? Why? Where's the supermodel, Wilma Doesnt?

We, the whole production staff were also surprised after learning about it. None of us has the right to talk about the details except the Management. Wilma has been part of TSL for almost three years now, or since the program started. One thing I like about her is whenever she cracks in a joke, making the staff burst out in laughter. It helps us ease tiredness specially when taping is getting late. She is truly a bubbly girl on and off cam. She'll surely be missed. :)

But as they say, its always better to look in the future. The new tandem of the prettiest faces on screen -- Lucy & Iza has a lot more to offer you. We were so overwhelmed with the people's ratings on our first week of airing having them as hosts! The team has been working on thinking new stories and new concepts to offer you. So we hope that you'd continue making us your 5 o' clock habit!!

Again, I'm sorry if I am not able to update this blog weekly, at least I'm updating it. Haha. And now you know what's keeping me busy, the promise of making your afternoons sweeter, with The Sweet Life! :)
